addcarwidgets (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at https://addcarwidgets.com and publishes guides about Apple CarPlay, related accessories, and our iOS application Car Play Connect: Auto Sync. We are not affiliated with Apple Inc.

2. Information we collect on this website

2.1 Information you provide

• Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter or sign up for early access to web tools.
• Support correspondence — if you email us, we keep that thread to respond and follow up.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Web analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and to see which pages and tools people use. Google Analytics uses cookies only where you allow it (see section 5); Ahrefs Web Analytics does not use cookies. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
• Server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) records request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and performance monitoring. Logs are retained per Vercel's retention policy.
• Performance / error data — anonymized timing and error reports to help us fix bugs.

2.3 What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not run third-party advertising trackers (Meta Pixel, Google Ads) on this website unless explicitly disclosed in a future update to this policy with prior notice.
• We do not build advertising profiles tied to your identity.

• To operate, secure, and improve the website.
• To send the newsletter and product updates if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe from the footer of any email).

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Reading this website does not require any cookie. The only cookies it can set are Google Analytics cookies, which measure how the site is used:

• EEA, UK, and Switzerland — these cookies are off until you press “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then, Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode and receives page views without cookies or any identifier stored on your device.
• Other regions — Google Analytics sets these cookies by default. You can turn them off at any time with the cookie settings button below.
• Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control — if your browser sends either signal, we load no analytics at all (neither Google Analytics nor Ahrefs Web Analytics) and show no banner.
• Your choice — we remember it in your browser's local storage (key acw_consent_v1), not in a cookie. Declining also deletes Google Analytics cookies that were already set.

Ahrefs Web Analytics does not use cookies. We do not set advertising cookies. If you have JavaScript disabled, no analytics are recorded.

6. Data sharing

We share data with a small set of service providers, each under a written data processing agreement:

• Vercel (hosting, edge logs)
• Google (Google Analytics 4 — web analytics)
• Ahrefs (Ahrefs Web Analytics — cookieless web analytics)
• Sanity (content management for blog articles)
• Email service provider (newsletter delivery — provider disclosed on the subscription form)

We may disclose information when legally compelled (subpoena, court order) or to protect rights, safety, or property. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing.

7. International data transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. When transferring personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized safeguards.

8. Data retention

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period for our records.
• Support emails: 3 years after the last contact.
• Server logs: per Vercel's standard retention.
• Google Analytics event data: up to 14 months (the maximum Google Analytics allows), then deleted; aggregated reports that identify no one may be kept longer.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Receive a copy in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

10. Children

This website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when we change how we handle data. Material changes will be announced via the website banner and (if you subscribed) by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
