Method 1: Add the native Weather widget in iOS 26

iOS 26 added widgets to the CarPlay stack — up to five tiles share the right pane. Weather is built into your iPhone, so there's nothing extra to install. This is the fastest way to get conditions on the car screen.

1. On your iPhone, open Settings → General → CarPlay.
2. Tap your car, then tap Customize → Widgets.

When this won't satisfy you:the native tile follows your current location, and it's a small tile — temperature, a condition icon, and the day's high and low, with no hourly breakdown. It can't show the weather at your destination. For that, use Method 2 (free) or pin a city with Method 3.

Method 2: See your destination's weather without an app

You can't point the native CarPlay widget at another city, but you don't need one to check the forecast ahead. Three free moves cover it.

1. Ask Siri.Say “What's the weather in Denver?” — it answers hands-free while you drive, for any city you name.
2. Save the city first.Before you leave, add your destination in the iPhone Weather app (tap the list icon → search → add). Glance at it while parked for the full forecast.
3. Use Apple Maps.Maps shows a temperature and conditions indicator for the area on screen — pan to your destination to see it before you set off.

The honest limit:none of these put the destination forecast on the widget tile itself. The tile still shows where you are. If you want the same city every time — your destination, not just your current spot — you need a widget that lets you set the location. Car Play Connect is a CarPlay widgets app whose Weather widget pins to a city you choose.

1. Install Car Play Connect from the App Store and open it once on your iPhone so its widget registers.
2. In the app, open the Weather widget and set the location you want on the car screen — the city you're driving to, a home base, anywhere.
3. Open Settings → General → CarPlay → your car → Customize → Widgets, then add Car Play Connect's Weather widget to the stack.
4. Reconnect CarPlay. The tile shows the city you pinned, not just your current location.

Why your CarPlay weather widget is blank or wrong

A weather tile that shows a dash, an old temperature, or nothing at all usually comes down to one of a few things. Run through them in order.

• You're not on iOS 26.CarPlay widgets arrived in iOS 26. On an older iPhone there's no Widgets option to add Weather to at all.
• The widget runs on your iPhone, not the car. If your phone is hot, throttled, or has no signal, the tile stops refreshing. Reconnecting CarPlay usually wakes it.
• Location access is off.The native tile needs Location Services on for Weather, or it can't show conditions for where you are.
