Method 1: Add the native Calendar widget in iOS 26
iOS 26 added widgets to the CarPlay stack — up to five tiles share the right pane. Calendar is built into your iPhone, so there's nothing extra to install. This is the fastest way to get your schedule on the car screen.
- On your iPhone, open Settings → General → CarPlay.
- Tap your car, then tap Customize → Widgets.
- Find Calendarin the gallery and tap the green “+” to add the Up Next tile to the stack.

Why your CarPlay calendar widget is empty or wrong
A blank Calendar tile almost always means the widget is working — it just has nothing to show from the calendars it's pointed at. Run through these before you blame the widget:
- No upcoming events in the selected calendars.The tile only shows what's ahead. If your next event lives in a calendar you unchecked, it stays blank.
- All-day events hidden. If today is only birthdays and holidays and you turned those off, the tile has nothing left to display.
- An account isn't syncing.Google or Exchange events only appear once that account is added and enabled in Settings → Calendar → Accounts. If it's off, those events never reach the widget.
- Wrong default calendar.New events you create in the car may land in a calendar the tile isn't showing. Check Settings → Calendar → Default Calendar.
The widget runs on your iPhone, so a fresh reconnect often wakes it after you change any of these.
